I’ve officially finished university and graduated as a fully qualified nurse. This is a HUGE achievement for me and has given me a big improvement on my mental health!
Since finishing uni I have been able to get my health under better control and am so pleased with myself!
The last three years have felt impossible! But I’ve done and even managed to bag myself a job in my dream area! Looking back on the last three years I have thought about some of my achievements that at the time I couldn’t appreciate because of all the other bits going on in my head!
Though becoming a nurse is by far my greatest achievement, I’m also so proud of organising a group to travel to Calais and care for the refugees in need, in top of that I’ve been able to continue to raise funds and awareness for the situation in Calais and across Europe!
I’ve been able to enjoy waterpolo and rediscovered my love for swimming and its ability to help me manage my little head that can be full of gremlins at times!
Along with lots of other things I met Ryan and so many other people who have 100000% changed my life for the better!
I think the biggest piece of advice I can give anyone trying to get through a degree with a mental health condition is to keep pushing. Surround yourself with people who are positive and help drive you to achieve your best! It may seem like the worst time of your life but try take ti
me to see the positive around you and celebrate all your achievements even if it’s just being able to ask for help.
