Ghana charity

Another thing I enjoy taking the time and involving myself in is a small charity in Ghana I help to run and organise!
The charity is an orphanage attached to a tiny medical centre. The orphanage takes in children who are either escaping war torn countries, have lost their family. Sadly most of the children are those who have been rescued by the police having been sold by their families to fishermen as slaves.
So many of the children and teenagers at the orphanage want to share their stories and gain support from people around the world! The charity runs off of donations and volunteers going to offer help and raise awareness.
I came across the small charity when on the hunt for an elective during my degree that wouldn’t destroy my bank account like some of the bigger corporations. The beauty of Beck’s home is the money it costs to go really does go towards helping the orphanage run and the cost of you staying with the family! Unlike the other companies where I struggled to see what the money was going towards! Though I didn’t stay in a luxury apartment with a pool like the others offered I don’t think I would feel comfortable going back to a place like that having seen what the locals lived with.
The children there are so grateful and kind and funny. They appreciate all the small and simple things that we often take for granted.
So I’m hoping to use this platform to spread a bit more knowledge and publicity!
